Allyson Robinson Joins SPART*A Advisory Board
SPART*A is proud to announce Allyson Robinson as the newest member of its Advisory Board. Ms. Robinson brings much to the table with experience ranging from LGBT advocacy to her own military service.
“We’ve accomplished much in our fight for LGBT equality in the military, but the West Point Cadet Prayer taught me, ‘never be content with a half truth when the whole can be won.’
SPART*A has refused be content with half the justice we deserve, and that’s the kind of movement I want to be a part of,” Ms. Robinson said. “I’m honored by this opportunity to serve our LGBT troops and to serve our country by strengthening the growing culture of inclusion in our military.”
In her new role, Ms. Robinson will share her experience and expertise in organizational development, civil rights advocacy, and strategic communications to advance SPART*A’s mission of advocating for and supporting actively serving LGBT military members and veterans, and their families. She joins such notables as former Marine Eric Alva, transgender pioneer Lynn Conway, and HIV-AIDS advocate Joe Zuniga." Allyson's experience as both an activist and military veteran brings an invaluable perspective to the SPART*A Advisory Board, and we're honored to welcome her to the team we rely on for insight into the issues our members face," said Jeremy Johnson, SPART*A Board Co-Chair; Tania Dunbar, SPART*A’s other Board Co-Chair, said “one of our prime objectives is transgender advocacy, and Allyson, given her experience, is the best person to guide our mission and help us execute our strategy.”
The Board of Directors and staff look forward to working with Ms. Robinson to advance SPART*A’s mission and values. Read Allyson’s bio here.
